February 27, 2026 — DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) today announced the release of a new wheelchair pickleball rating system, set to debut during the US Open Pickleball Championships, April 11 – 18, 2026, in Naples, Florida. The rating will integrate into DUPR’s existing platform, ensuring that adaptive athletes are supported within the same unified rating structure used across the sport. 

The initiative represents a significant effort to expand inclusion across the sport. Developed in collaboration with wheelchair athletes and tournament leaders, the dedicated rating framework is designed to better reflect performance within adaptive competition while maintaining consistency with DUPR’s global rating ecosystem.

The debut at the 2026 US Open is a milestone moment that recognizes the event’s role in helping spark the development of the wheelchair rating system. By launching the initiative on one of pickleball’s largest stages, DUPR aims to highlight the shared commitment across the sport to innovation, inclusion, and competitive integrity.
