Her Story of Hopping Through 100 Courts

The Journey through 100 courts
For most people, finding a new hobby is about passing the time. For Dars Aquino, a content creator and pickleball enthusiast from the Philippines, discovering pickleball became a complete lifestyle transformation.
From navigating heartbreak to stepping onto 100 different pickleball courts, her journey proves that this sport is about so much more than just a game, it's about confidence, connection, and community. That's exactly the journey Dars set out to document, one court at a time.
We sat down with her to talk about her incredible 100th court-hop milestone, how the sport transformed her life, and what's next for her.
Where It All Began
Starting a brand new sport with zero athletic background can feel intimidating, but sometimes the best chapters of our lives begin in the most unexpected ways.
"I started playing pickleball after going through heartbreak, and it unexpectedly opened so many opportunities for someone like me who had no sports background at all," Dars shares. "I never imagined that my lifestyle would completely change because of this sport."
What started as a way to heal quickly evolved into a passion for a healthier and more active lifestyle. But the physical benefits were only the beginning. As a public content creator, the courts became a space for genuine connection and self-growth.
From building a close circle of "pickleball sisters" who keep her grounded through the noise of social media to learning how to value herself more deeply, pickleball became a source of confidence and empowerment.
"Through sharing my journey and progress online, I hope to empower women to wear what makes them feel confident and comfortable. I always try to focus on spreading good vibes, positivity, and building a supportive community both on and off the court."

How Court-Hopping Shaped Her Journey
Reaching 100 courts is no small accomplishment. It takes dedication, curiosity, and a genuine love for the game. Playing with different people on every court helped Dars adjust to different playing styles and improve her game faster. Each place brought something new to learn.
As a content creator, court-hopping also helped her get more visibility. It led to brand collaborations, event invites, and chances to meet people in the pickleball community, including local players and PRO athletes in the Philippines.
Meeting People Along the Way
One of the biggest parts of the journey has been the people.
"Court-hopping taught me to be kind and connect with everyone regardless of their status in life," Dars says. "You never know who you'll meet on the court, some people end up becoming friends, supporters, or even brand partners."
The Next Chapter
After exploring courts all over the Philippines, her next goal is to play internationally for the first time. She's currently at a 3.4 DUPR rating and working toward reaching the advanced level. More than anything, Dars wants to keep growing the recreational side of pickleball and make it feel accessible and fun for everyone.
"Pickleball is not just about competition," she says. "It's about community, confidence, friendships, and enjoying the sport no matter your background or skill level."
