How DUPR is calculated

Your DUPR updates automatically with every match, giving you separate ratings for singles, gender doubles, and mixed doubles. Plus, if you’re in the 50–65+ bracket, you’ll also receive a dedicated rating for your age group! Here are the four key factors that go into calculating your DUPR:

Performance vs Expectation

Every match has an expected outcome based on the ratings of everyone on the court.

Perform better than expected, and your rating may increase.

Perform below expectations, and your rating may decrease.

Type of MATCH

Not all matches carry the same weight. Verified club, league, and tournament matches have a greater impact on your rating than self-posted matches.

MATCH RECENCY

Your most recent performances matter the most. Newer matches help ensure your DUPR reflects your current skill level.

MATCH VOLUME

The more matches you play, the more reliable your DUPR becomes. A larger match history creates a more accurate and stable rating.

HOW DO THE DOUBLE RATINGS WORK?

DUPR uses individual player ratings to calculate a team rating—the average of each player’s DUPR. These team ratings are then used to determine the expected score of the match.

If your team scores more points than expected, your rating goes up. If your team scores fewer points than expected, your rating goes down.

Each player’s rating adjustment depends on the number of matches they’ve played and how recent those matches are.

Play regularly to keep your rating dynamic and reflective of your current skill!

Reliability Score

Your player profile shows two key numbers: your DUPR Rating (2.000–8.000) and your Reliability Score (1–100%).

Your DUPR Rating reflects your skill level based on match results.

Your Reliability Score shows your progress toward achieving a reliable rating —  to keep your rating up to date, play often and log matches consistently.

A higher Reliability Score means your DUPR is more likely to reflect your current skill level. A low reliability score means your DUPR is based on outdated or insufficient match data.
