New partnership brings standardized athletic performance testing and measurable physical performance insights to the pickleball community

Bainbridge Island, WA— October 30, 2026 — DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating), the global standard in pickleball ratings, today announced a new partnership with BAM Testing (Basic Athletic Measurement), an athletic performance testing and data platform, to bring standardized athletic testing and performance insights to the pickleball community.

The partnership will explore how measurable athletic performance data can complement DUPR’s match-based rating system and provide players and coaches with a more comprehensive and actionable understanding of player development.

While DUPR measures competitive performance through match results, BAM Testing evaluates physical and athletic performance through sport-specific, standardized testing protocols and verified performance data. Together, the organizations aim to give players and coaches additional tools to better understand the physical attributes behind on-court performance, identify athletic strengths, areas for improvement, and measure progress over time.

The partnership will initially launch through a pilot program with a select group of DUPR Coaches in the United States. Participating coaches will have the opportunity to experience the BAM testing platform firsthand, introduce testing within their player communities, and provide feedback that will help shape the future of the program.

Following the pilot, DUPR and BAM will evaluate opportunities to expand the partnership across the broader DUPR Coach network, clubs, player programs and DUPR-affiliated events.

BAM also brings established pickleball expertise to the partnership. BAM Co-founder Brett Brungardt co-wrote The Complete Book of Pickleball, conducting extensive research that helped inform the development of BAM’s pickleball-specific testing protocols. The organizations will also explore opportunities for DUPR Coaches to become trained BAM Test Operators, host athletic performance testing experiences, and incorporate objective performance benchmarking into their coaching and player-development programs.

The partnership will include opportunities for co-branded educational content, athlete performance insights, case studies and testing experiences designed to help players better understand the relationship between physical performance and on-court results.
