DUPR Reset: How LTP Pickleball Is Leading the Way

With the DUPR Reset launched on March 16, clubs across the pickleball world are preparing for a major shift in how pickleball ratings are recalculated. While the reset offers players new opportunities to re-evaluate their ratings, it also requires thoughtful programming and clear communication from facilities.
To support clubs through the process, DUPR is highlighting strategies from leading facilities. One standout example is the LTP Pickleball Club, led by Kris Puskar. The club has quickly built programming that will help players complete their reset matches in a structured and competitive environment.
Understanding the DUPR Reset
The DUPR Reset offers players the opportunity to re-evaluate their pickleball ratings through a new set of verified matches, from March 16 through May 17. Players who choose to participate will register for the reset, complete a minimum of eight matches, and play with at least two different partners.
During the reset window, players will not see their updated rating in real time. Instead, results will be evaluated throughout the period before the new rating is published.
At the same time, clubs can continue submitting matches as usual, since all reset calculations are handled by DUPR.

How LTP Pickleball Is Leading the Way
LTP Pickleball, led by Kris Puskar, opened in January 2025 and quickly established itself as a competitive and well-organized club built around the DUPR rating system. Even before opening, Puskar had been running DUPR-based leagues and pickleball tournaments, which made integrating the DUPR rating system into the club a seamless transition.
Today, DUPR sits at the center of LTP’s programming. The club runs:
- Weekly ladder leagues
- Round robins
- Monthly pickleball tournaments
All events are organized through DUPR, ensuring players compete at the appropriate level while generating verified match results that help maintain accurate pickleball ratings.
LTP has become known locally as a highly competitive club where levels are properly enforced and events are well organized. Players are drawn to the facility because they know they will find quality competition and reliable ratings.
Under Puskar’s leadership, the club emphasizes clear communication with players about how DUPR works and why it benefits the community, helping them understand the value of structured match data and a consistent rating system.
This approach has positioned LTP as an ideal example of how clubs can successfully integrate DUPR into their operations.

A Club-Level Playbook for Reset Success
LTP has developed formats that make it easy for players to complete their required reset matches.
Ladder Leagues (Monday–Thursday)
This format is especially popular for players rated under 3.5, providing both structure and social interaction while ensuring enough matches are recorded for the DUPR reset. These leagues:
- Operate Monday through Thursday
- Are organized by skill level
- Guarantee 8 DUPR matches per session
- Rotate partners throughout the night
Large-Scale Monthly DUPR Tournaments
These tournaments offer an ideal way for players to complete reset matches in a large-scale, professionally organized setting. These tournaments:
- Allow players to sign up with a fixed partner
- Attract 350-400 participants
- Provide highly competitive, verified match play
Adjusting Weekend Programming for the Reset
To further support the reset period, LTP is also adapting its weekend programming. During the reset window, the club’s weekend round robins will transition to DUPR-based round robins, allowing players to:
- Register with a chosen partner
- Play structured matches that count toward DUPR Reset requirements
While some clubs experiment with DUPR open play, Kris Puskar notes that open play can sometimes create challenges for pickleball rating accuracy due to wide skill-level differences and frequent partner changes.
Instead, LTP’s approach focuses on structured formats that generate consistent and reliable match results. This strategy helps maintain match quality while still offering players the flexibility to complete their reset matches in multiple ways.

Offering Players Multiple Paths to Complete Their Reset
One key lesson from LTP’s approach is the importance of providing multiple participation options, as different players prefer different formats. Some enjoy rotating partner leagues, which allow them to meet new players and test their skills against a variety of opponents. Others prefer fixed-partner competition, where chemistry and strategy with a partner play a larger role.
By offering both formats, LTP ensures that all players can comfortably complete their reset matches and re-evaluate their pickleball ratings.

Setting the Standard for the DUPR Reset
The DUPR Reset represents a significant moment for the sport, and clubs that prepare thoughtfully can both deepen player engagement and strengthen the accuracy of pickleball ratings.
With its structured leagues, high-participation pickleball tournaments, and strategic programming adjustments, LTP Pickleball is already demonstrating how successful implementation can look like.
By following this approach, other clubs can adopt similar strategies to support their players and maximize the benefits of the DUPR Reset.
