Located in Lafayette, CA, Carmen Sanz Pickleball Club is preparing to help players make the most of the upcoming DUPR Reset period, taking place March 16 to May 17, 2026. Carmen Sanz, the club’s director, shared that the club plans to integrate DUPR Reset opportunities directly into its programming to help players gain clarity, confidence, and a reason to step on the court when the Reset period begins.

A Chance to Compete with Confidence

Carmen Sanz sees the DUPR Reset as an exciting opportunity for players across all skill levels. She noted that some players are looking for an opportunity to validate their skill level and some players feel as though their rating does not reflect their current level.

As Carmen notes, the Reset “gives everyone a reason to step on the court and compete.”

How Carmen Sanz Pickleball Club is Integrating DUPR Reset

According to Carmen, the club plans to implement the Reset through a thoughtful and structured approach designed to support both casual and competitive players:

  • Embedded Reset Opportunities in SUPR DUPR Tour Events: Players will be able to complete their required 8-match minimum for a Reset in a competitive, organized environment.
  • Small-Group Reset Pods: Groups of 4-8 players will provide a controlled and efficient experience while also helping doubles players meet the requirement of playing with at least two different partners and singles players face two different opponents to qualify for a Reset.
  • Education on Match Volume: While 8 matches are sufficient to complete the Reset, Carmen encourages players to log closer to 30 matches to provide more data so the rating calculation is stronger and better reflects their true skill level.

By combining these strategies, the club provides a structured and social setting where players can build confidence, compete fairly, and enjoy a supportive community.

Building Momentum and Community

As the Reset period approaches, the excitement at Carmen Sanz Pickleball Club is evident. Carmen shared that players at the club are realizing that the Reset is an opportunity and there’s no risk.

“When a community moves together with that mindset, growth happens naturally,” she mentioned.

Carmen hopes that other facilities will adopt similar approaches, using the Reset not only to update pickleball ratings but also to encourage participation in pickleball tournaments and strengthen the sense of community around the sport.

The DUPR Reset is completely optional and risk-free. After the Reset Period ends, a player’s DUPR is set to the higher of their Reset rating or original rating.
