It's official: the first-ever DUPR Reset Period has come to a close. Match submissions closed on May 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PST, and the results are now live in the app for all Reset participants! What started as a simple idea, to give players a fair, structured way to prove their level, has turned into something bigger than we expected. The results speak for themselves.

Here's the full picture of what happened during the DUPR Reset Period:

THE SCALE OF PARTICIPATION

Reset participants alone contributed over 400,000 match results to the DUPR platform during the Reset Period. That's hundreds of thousands of players showing up, competing, and proving their level on the court.

DID YOUR RATING MOVE?

Here's one of the most reassuring takeaways from the data: for the vast majority of players, Reset ratings didn't swing dramatically. The DUPR algorithm is designed to be accurate and stable, and the Reset results confirm that.

HOW MUCH DID RESET RATINGS MOVE?

Nine out of ten Reset participants saw their rating move by less than 0.3 points in either direction. Only a tiny fraction, less than 0.1%, saw movement greater than 1.0 point. This tells us the existing DUPR ratings were already highly accurate. The Reset wasn't a mass correction: it was fine-tuning.

53% EARNED A HIGHER RATING. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 47%?

Just over half of all Reset participants (53%) came away with a higher DUPR rating as a result of the Reset. These are players whose on-court performance during the Reset Period demonstrated genuine improvement or growth that hadn't yet been fully captured in their previous rating due to their extensive match history.

But here's what matters for the 47% who did not receive a higher rating: nothing was lost. That's the design of the Reset: it was always risk-free. Every player's DUPR was set to the higher of their Reset rating or their original rating. If your Reset performance didn't outpace your existing rating, your original number was automatically preserved.

  • If your Reset rating was higher, your DUPR was updated to reflect it.
  • If your original rating was higher, your original rating was kept.
  • If you didn't meet the minimum match requirements, your original rating was restored automatically.

"There is no scenario where a rating goes down due to Reset. Nothing is lost by participating."

WHAT THIS MEANS GOING FORWARD

DUPR Reset was built on a core belief: your rating should reflect your current level, and you should have a structured opportunity to demonstrate that.

The data reinforces something we've always known: DUPR ratings are built to be accurate, and recent results improve your Reliability score, giving the algorithm greater confidence in your rating. The algorithm continuously updates based on match results, and most players were already where they should be. The Reset gave motivated players a chance to prove themselves on the court.
