DUPR and Pickleball Australia Continue Partnership to Support the Growth of Pickleball Across Australia

DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) and Pickleball Australia are proud to continue their partnership as they work together to support the rapid growth of pickleball across Australia.
Following the announcement in March 2025 naming DUPR as the official rating system of Pickleball Australia, the partnership continues to strengthen the Australian pickleball ecosystem through more accurate player ratings, fairer competition, and improved experiences for players, clubs, venues, and tournaments nationwide.
Pickleball Australia now represents more than 27,000 members and over 410 affiliated clubs and venues across the country, reflecting the extraordinary growth of the sport nationwide. Guided by its mission — “United and inclusive, we work together to strengthen the sport, grow the community, create impact and nurture the spirit of pickleball” — Pickleball Australia continues to play a central role in developing the sport at every level across the nation.
The continued partnership also comes as momentum builds toward the 2026 Australian Pickleball Championships, set to return to the Gold Coast at Pimpama Sports Hub following a record-breaking event in 2025. Last year’s championships welcomed 1,235 players, setting the current Southern Hemisphere participation record, with organizers aiming to surpass that milestone this year.
Australia has quickly emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing pickleball communities, driven by strong grassroots participation, expanding club infrastructure, and increasing demand for both recreational and competitive play. Through the continued integration of DUPR across Australian clubs, leagues, and tournaments, players gain access to a globally recognized rating system designed to create more competitive matches, clearer player pathways, and a more connected playing experience.
“We’re excited to continue building alongside Pickleball Australia as the sport reaches new heights across the country,” said Tito Machado. “Australia has become one of the most passionate and engaged pickleball communities in the world, and Pickleball Australia has done an outstanding job creating a strong foundation for long-term growth. We look forward to continuing to support players, clubs, and events across the region.”
“The first phase of our partnership with DUPR has laid an excellent foundation, and we’re delighted to see this partnership grow and develop into something even greater for our community,” said Brendan Lee, Executive Officer of Pickleball Australia. “The integration of DUPR across the nation’s clubs, leagues and tournaments has already made a real difference for players across Australia. We’re very excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to strengthen the sport at every level.”
As pickleball continues to grow across Australia and globally, DUPR and Pickleball Australia remain committed to supporting players at every level of the sport, from local community play through to major national competitions.
